Santa Monica CVB 25th Anniversary! |

- Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau (SMCVB) is celebrating 25 years as a valuable resource for tourists and the community. The non-profit organization, comprised of twenty-five knowledgeable travel counselors and staff, and a board of eleven community and business leaders, provides information to residents and tourists, increases visitor expenditures, tourism revenues and local employment opportunities through the promotion of Santa Monica as a premier travel destination. Tourism is a leading profit generator for the city and SMCVB plays a vital role in the success of Santa Monica as a travel destination.
In honor of our 25th anniversary, here are a few fun ways to enjoy this wonderful community!

The Green Certification Program |

- Santa Monica CVB is one of the healthiest and most energy efficient businesses in the city. The organization was the first charter business in Santa Monica to receive a “Green Business” certification for practicing and promoting the cities sustainable lifestyle.

- SMCVB has joined forces with the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica College, and the City of Santa Monica to establish a training program that will focus on excellent customer service and cultural sensitivity. The unique aspect of this training program is that it is the first of its kind to include training on the Santa Monica brand can be communicated through the service industry. Sign up now!
The program will be open to anyone interested in developing customer service skills or learning more about the Santa Monica brand. An eductional committee is currently developing the curriculum for the program which will launch in summer 2007. Other efforts by the SMCVB to help local service employees go the extra mile for the city's guests will include:
- Encouraging enrollment in college-level couses enabling them to advance in their industry
- A recognition program to reward exceptional efforts
- A scholarship program for outstanding employees
